Nathan Alterman and Nathan Zach: The Rhythm of Uniformity

Beneath the open polemic between Natan Zach and Natan Alterman and the famous struggle between the two giants of the new Hebrew poetry was hidden a kind of hidden polemic; The struggle for the representation of the Israeli reality. Zech's poetry - contrary to the well-known story about it - never rebelled against the alternative poetry and did not deny it, but maintained a complex, creative and charged dialogue with it over many decades of writing. We will read the poems of Alterman and Zach and get to know their extraordinary worlds up close.
